On January 4th, 2014, I had one of those “Ah Ha” moments in which a concept redefined itself in my consciousness. Someone asked me if I’d made any resolutions or set any goals for 2014, and I was stumped … because those terms didn’t resonate with me this year. And then my fingers typed “365 Days of Acknowledging The Dance”.
Acknowledge: to express gratitude for; to take notice of; to recognize as genuine or valid;
Yes, I do have some plans and goals for this year that I’d like to see come to fruition. But they are preferences – I’m open to something even better that I may not have thought of yet.
So that’s what I mean when I commit to “Acknowledging the Dance” – it may be a two-step, a cha-cha, a pirouette, a running leap, a stumble and slide, a swing, a wild and crazy flail-about, or whatever… it’s all part of The Dance. It’s when I judge what it’s “supposed to look like” that I get in trouble. And… one of the big acknowledgments is that No One is ever doing The Dance alone… even when it feels like it.
So, here’s to linking elbows for a whirl or two!
